With the 2018 Jeep Compass, Jeep continues to be at the top of their game by endlessly broadening its influence on the car industry, and the world. What kind of transmission options come with the 2018 Compass?

The MultiAir Tigershark 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, with 180 horsepower and 175 lb.-ft of torque, is the standard engine for all 2018 Compass trims. This engine comes with multiple transmission choices depending on whether or not it is 4x4 or 4x2. The 4x4 models can have the six-speed manual transmission, or the 4x4 specific nine-speed automatic transmission. The 4x2 models have the option between the six-speed manual transmission, or the six-speed automatic transmission. Jeep continues to maintain and demand excellence with the five-mode Jeep Selec-Terrain system for the off-roader in you, while creating a class-leading 20:1 crawl ratio. The Selec-Terrain system allows for the most optimal handling in four-wheel-drive in any climate you could imagine with four different modes already standardized, including Auto, Snow, Sand, and Mud. The Trailhawk adds an additional Rock mode. The Trailhawk, because of this additional mode is the go-to for 4x4 off-road efficiency, with skid plates, a higher ride, and the ever important tow hooks in both the back and front of the vehicle. All of these features creating a towing capability of up to 2,000 lbs. The 2018 Jeep Compass Trailhawk is also capable of extreme angle approaches of 30-degrees, a 24-degree breakover angle, and a 34-degree departure angle. The 17-inch tires of the Trailhawk help to glide through water of up to 19 inches while having the option to control the movement down hills. The fuel efficiency for these vehicles varies depending on the transmission, from 22 mpg for city and 31 mpg for highway in a 4WD manual and FWD automatic, 23 mpg for city and 32 mpg for highway in a FWD manual transmission, and 22 mpg for city and 30 mpg for highway in a 4WD automatic.

What are the trim levels of the 2018 Compass?

There are four different trim levels to choose from for the 2018 Compass, starting with the Compass Sport. The Sport contains six-speakers, Bluetooth, a 5-inch touchscreen with the Uconnect system, air-conditioning, 16-inch wheels, and the all important USB port. The next trim level is the Compass Latitude, which contains everything the Sport does, and adds an upgraded interior, keyless entry and ignition, wheels larger than the 16-inch of the Compass Sport, and the ability to pick and choose other packages for additional upgrades. Next up is the Compass Limited which includes upgraded 18-inch wheels, new exterior trim options, climate control, an even larger 8.5-inch touchscreen for Uconnect containing the ability to integrate smartphone autoplay capabilities with both Apple and Android devices, leather interior, heated seats, and a driver powered seat. The final trim level is the Trailhawk, which is the perfect car for the adventurer in you. This trim gives you shields to protect the engine and the gas tank, a suspension that is raised for better mobility on off-road terrain, 17-inch wheels, a package offered only in AWD, with a Selec-Terrain system, and a one-year subscription to SiriusXM radio. Every 2018 Compass has five seats, plenty of leg-room for front seat passengers and 38.3-inches of legroom for passengers in the back seat. For cargo space there is over 27 cubic feet of space, plenty of room for long car trips, sports equipment, and groceries. However, when you include the cargo space created with the back seats folded, you can experience around 60 cubic feet of cargo room. The last step to creating your dream car is the color scheme for both the exterior and interior. Options for exterior colors for all trims include Olive Green Pearl Coat, Redline Red Pearl Coat, Laser Blue Pearl Coat, Jazz Blue Pearl Coat, Diamond Black Crystal Pearl Coat, Billet Silver Metallic Clear Coat, and Bright White Tri-Coat. Spitfire Orange Clear Coat is a color only available for Trailhawk and Sport models, Pearl White Tri-Coat is only available for Limited models, and Rhino Clear Coat is available for both Limited and Trailhawk models. Interior colors for models include Black and Sandstorm, Black, Black and Ski Grey, and Trailhawk Black.
