New 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan at Browning Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram for Chino, CA
The 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan lineup has the Super Stow 'n Go seating which is industry-exclusive. This feature makes room for 7 people very efficiently with the pull of a lever, turning the Grand Caravan from cargo to passenger-mode and back again. The Grand Caravan SXT has all of the standards that last year's SXT Plus model had, but installs a security alarm and a remote starter. In addition to all of that, the Grand Caravan GT trim model gets all the features of the R/T model from last year, plus adds the 'Driver Convenience Group and Navigation' package. There is a standard 6.5-inch touchscreen audio system and a ParkView rear backup camera on all trims.
Under the Grand Caravan's Hood
The 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan is powered by a 3.6-liter V6 engine that has 283 horsepower and manufactures 260 pound-feet of torque, and does so for all four models of this year's version. An option on all models is an engine block heater, which helps engines warm up before starting, increasing engine life. Power to the front wheels is given by a six-speed automatic transmission that is put in as standard. 2017 sees standard as well an always-on fuel optimizer calibration functionality, a touring-tuned suspension, and heavy-duty engine cooling. In Edmunds testing, a Grand Caravan went from zero to 60 mph in 8 seconds. The fuel economy estimated by the EPA is 20 mpg combined (17 city/25 highway), for the Grand Caravan best score with its most fuel efficient configuration.
Design of Dodge Grand Caravan
There are four fully decked-out Dodge Grand Caravan models made for 2017: the SE, SE Plus, GT and the SXT. The SE model has a tilt-and-telescoping steering column, a steering wheel with audio controls, 17-inch steel wheels, power locks, power front-windows and mirrors, cruise control, heated mirrors, a 6-speaker audio system (with a CD unit & an aux jack), tri-zone climate control (with AC all the way in the backseats), and a second-row bench seat with the Stow 'n Go. The SE Plus envelops the features of the SE trim, then puts in an extra floor console, rear-glass tinting, alloy wheels, second-row captain's chairs, and upgraded upholstery. The SXT model has roof rails, power sliding-rear doors, a remote engine start, fog-lights, chrome exterior trim, a power liftgate, leather upholstery, and an 8-way power driver seat. The GT is performance-tuned and builds off of the SXT model with a 115-volt household-style outlet, leather seating, a rearview camera, an 8-way power passenger seat, a 6.5-inch touchscreen display, and a nine-speaker audio system.
