Design of Dodge Charger
The Charger is a strong full-size sedan, and popular in the newer muscle-car category. A big compliment goes out to the available 8.4-inch Uconnect interface, with its smart layout and excellent use of the touchscreen for pixel buttons and easy menu. That said, the 5-inch Uconnect screen in the base SE model works just as well for those who want a more discreet style. The trunk space measures in at 16.5 cubic feet, but strap those groceries down because this car goes very fast, very quickly! The 2017 Dodge Charger comes in eight models: SE, SXT, R/T, Daytona, R/T Scat Pack, Daytona 392, SRT 392 and SRT Hellcat. Standard equipment on the SE are 17-inch alloy wheels, a 5-inch Uconnect touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity, keyless entry and ignition, front and rear USB ports, and a six-speaker audio system with an aux audio jack and a media player interface. The SXT throws on 18-inch wheels, an auto-dimming mirror, LED foglamps, dual-zone automatic climate control, an additional USB port up front, heated mirrors, and the 8.4-inch touchscreen that has Apple CarPlay & Android Auto for smartphones. The R/T model is outfitted close to the SXT but rocks 20-inch wheels, a sport-tuned suspension, transmission paddle shifters and enhanced brakes. Adding to that previous model's style features, the next model in line sees forged alloy wheels, a performance suspension tuned specifically for the model, and some of the Premium Group's features, all appearing on the Daytona model. The R/T Scat Pack gains rear parking sensors, power 8-way front seats, a rearview camera, performance brakes, and a high-performance suspension. The Daytona 392 basically combines the R/T Scat Pack and the Daytona model's features, plus keeps matching those brakes to the powerful engine selections. The SRT 392 offers as an option the Technology Group, then that model builds further with an adaptive suspension, both blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert systems, all-leather upholstery, forged alloy wheels, xenon headlamps, a steering wheel with a sporty flat-bottom and then the Uconnect navigation system. A 19-speaker audio system by Harman Kardon becomes available on the SRT 392 and the SRT Hellcat, and works in conjunction with the standard (on all models) acoustic windshield and acoustic front-side windows. That's a lot of speakers, but the engine can pull them no problem in this vehicle! The SRT Hellcat adds to the SRT 392 content with a robust V8 engine that is supercharged, added tuning for the steering and suspension, plus a ton of the options from above!
